Main Responsibilities
General Accounting / Reporting / Closing
- Records general accounting entries.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts in accordance with the account list provided by their manager.
- Prepares monthly cash flow forecasts within the required deadlines and monitors actual cash flow on a weekly basis.
- Ensures the smooth execution of the monthly netting process under “CO PROCESS NETTING”.
- Accrues bank interest on loans and cash pooling operations.
- Provides and documents the information required during internal and external audits within the scope of their responsibilities.
Banking Management
- Acts as the local contact person for banks.
- Sends confirmations of supplier payment runs and interbank balancing transactions to the Group Treasury department (pending automation of cash-pool reporting).
- Ensures proper management of bank accounts and cash registers and performs bank and cash reconciliations.
- Performs bank/accounting reconciliations for net salaries and employee advances.
- Manages the allocation of corporate cards and electronic approval systems (e-banking).
Expense Reports / MXP
- Manages employee onboarding and offboarding in MXP.
- Reviews and allocates expense reports on a daily basis.
- Initiates reimbursement payments for expense claims.
Cross-functional Responsibilities
Able to act as backup for the General Accountant on the main tasks related to VAT returns, EC Sales Lists (DES), and Intrastat declarations (DEB), with support from external consultants for foreign VAT registrations within budget constraints:
- Prepares and reviews French and foreign VAT returns; initiates related payments and VAT refund claims with local authorities; monitors collection follow-up.
- Reviews and prepares DEB and DES declarations; initiates related payments and potential refund claims with customs authorities; monitors collection follow-up; obtains validation of VAT/DEB/DES declarations from the Finance Manager.
- Manages VAT tax audits in foreign countries in coordination with their manager.
- Maintains detailed country-by-country monitoring of VAT risks in coordination with their manager.
- Supports invoicing flows (customers/suppliers) to improve the reliability and timeliness of reporting data. Contributes to improving the quality of accounting master data.
- Records all general accounting entries related to VAT and ensures proper file management.
- Prepares monthly reconciliations between statutory revenue and revenue declared in French and foreign VAT returns for the current year.
- Completes reporting schedules related to their area of responsibility.
- Prepares and provides documents requested by internal and external auditors.
Other Tax Declarations (Cross-functional Responsibilities)
- Prepares and files tax declarations: TVS, DAS2, CVAE, C3S, and Office Tax.
- Reviews and processes payments for local tax notices: Property Tax (Taxe Foncière) and CFE.
- Reconciles the related accounting accounts and checks consistency with accruals.
- Completes statistical surveys.
Profile
- Experience in accounting management and banking operations monitoring, preferably within a large Group/company.
- Experience in tax law and VAT is a plus.
- English level: B2.
- Qualification: Associate degree / Bachelor’s level (BAC +2) in Accounting.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and synthesis skills.
- Versatile and adaptable.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to share knowledge and expertise.
