Essential Job Duties
- Directs the operations and maintenance of steam, mechanical, compressed air, water and refrigeration systems to provide uninterrupted service
- Plans and establishes machinery production settings (steam pressure, temperature, tonnage of press, etc.) so that equipment runs with the proper settings
- Develops, schedules, and controls a preventative maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment
- Directs, supervises, coordinates mechanical maintenance personnel
- Responsible for the activities of all maintenance personnel & contractors to ensure that high standards of workmanship and safety are maintained
- Ensure proper maintenance of facility machinery and buildings
- Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
- Recommends, plans, and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve desired results
- Identifies cost reduction opportunities
- Utilizes technical expertise to implement or oversee the implementation of cost reduction ideas suggested by self and others
- Maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep for plant facilities
- Directs the work of outside contractors. Ensures high standards of safety are developed, met & maintained
- Ensures compliance with all related TS 16949 & ISO 14001procedures and requirements
- Assist in providing and maintaining a safe workplace
- Manages employees in the Maintenance Department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit
