Summary 

Supervises and coordinates activities of production employees engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture parts or products.  Emphasis will be on guiding and training employees, monitoring their performance, and running production.  Involves performing quality control reviews in addition to seeking opportunities to streamline and enhance current procedures.  Responsible for safety, quality, and production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise, and train productions associates in safety, quality, and production methods
  • Reviews daily production requirements for shift, then reviews production line to ensure everything is in place and operational (personnel, raw materials, etc.) in order to meet production requirements and quality standards
  • Maintain production measurables (i.e. OEE, scrap, PM’s, etc.)
  • Directs production activities and establishes production priorities to obtain optimum production utilization of human resources and equipment while meeting production schedules
  • Inspect parts and ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Works with Operations Manager, Engineering, and Maintenance to suggest and implement methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency  
  • Accountable for continuous improvement 
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Provides direction and sets a good example for application of company policies and procedures
  • Maintains time/attendance and production records
  1. Orients, trains and evaluates employee performance
  2. Provides and maintains a safe work environment, and participates in accident investigation
  3. Ensures production associates follow proper safety procedures
  4. Facilitates positive employee relations and work environment
  5. Manages subordinate Team Leaders
  6. Works in conjunction with Human Resources and Operations Manager to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws
  7. Set example by having good attitude, attendance, and safety practices   

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with Business major is preferred.  Will consider work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in a progressive manufacturing environment, experience with JIT manufacturing, working knowledge of TS16949 / ISO 14001 requirements; automotive experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience preferred

Language Ability

  • Ability to effectively present information to management and employees of the organization required

Math Ability

  • Basic math skills are required

Reasoning Ability 

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and to deal with problems in standardized situations required

Computer Skills 

  • MS Word & Excel, Internet, Outlook, SAP, manufacturing software
  • (Microsoft Teams a Plus)
