Responsibilities:
- Ensure profitable and successful product development phase
- Ensure product/process feasibility and machine learning in the Colab environment
- Perform functional analysis in cooperation with functional Quality
- Creation and permanent evaluation of DFMEA during program development
- Assess product feasibility by initiating tests and trials vs. Customer Requirements and Critical Characteristics (revise DVP and PVT, engage trials, testing, prototyping and simulations whenever necessary).
- Create and update product and process data (Bill Of Materials, Purchased Part Specifications, Critical Process Parameters, drawings) and ensure effective handover to other Functions
- Track profitability by updating Part Cost Calculations and take necessary actions for mitigating deviations
- Supervise relevant prototyping activities related to awarded projects
- Support Operations with concept definition of process (layout, PFMEA), equipment and capex
- Support Tooling and Quality Departments with the definition of tools and gauges
- Support start-up of serial tools and processes, including run at rate and production launch
- Support Engineering Changes with focus on Customer requirements, feasibility and profitability
- Ensure continuous improvement by collection and implementation of lessons learnt from Product Development
- Support MOVE, VA/VE activities and material standardization
- Supervise the maturation of the feasible part CAD in collaboration with internal/external CAD service
Requirements:
- Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Min 3 years of experience with product development (preferably in the automotive business)
- Preferably experience in the field of fiber based materials conversion, especially for Wheelhouse Outer Liners and /or Underbody systems
- Preferably experience with the design review & collaboration software Colab
- Knowledge of risk analysis assessment methodologies (DFMEA)
- Ability to read and work with engineering documentation (e.g. Customer Requirements book, drawings, patents, test reports)
- knowledge of troubleshooting and problem solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, PDCA, DOE, Lean Six Sigma,)
- Ability to deliver high quality technical documentation (e.g. production trials reports, lessons learnt, design guidelines)
- Knowledge of PC applications such as MS-Office. Knowledege of CAD visualization, PLM softwares is a plus
- Command of English (oral and written, other languages are a plus)
